Würstelstand, a Trading Simulation | Zeige diese Seite auf Deutsch |

"hasse Wiaschtl" (also "heiße Würstchen") means "hot sausages". The game is a simulation from Futureware 2001. You have to manage your own hotdog stand, buy sausages, bread, beer, sweets, and you have to manage the finances. Then the products want to be sold, and you have to do eventful small-talk with the customers. By the way you can play in the lottery and watch the daily weather forecast. And much more will wait for you...
Leni, the hero of this adventure, was born in 1957 in Voitsdorf (= a very small hole) which is next to Mayrning (=small town). Although some setbacks (his mother was the victim of a the meatwulf, ...) in his early years he became famous as a dart-player and as a battle cardplayer. He was the fright of all the fish in the Saar (Leni loves dynamit fishing). But Leni strived for something higher, and learned in a monthlengthy training the job of a "sausage-griller". Soon he achieves the "Original-Wuarstbrater-Qualitäts-und-Ehren-Diplom" from the "International Association of United Würstls". His father dies because of "infectus wurstus" 2 month after it. That was too much for Leni: He broke all contacts to his friends, and became homeless. To get enough money, he sold all his things, at last his OWQuE-Diplom to his friend and postman Gottfried.
19 years later Leni inherits the hotdog stand from his uncle. Shortly after the opening ceremony with laser-show and fireworks, he realizes, that he has no legal chance to fund a sausage imperium without the diplom. Luckily he talks to Gottfried, and both decide a wager: If Leni owns $ 1.000.000,00 in one year, he gets the diplom back. Otherwise Gottfried gets the hot dog stand. Now it's on YOU ... |

The full version of "Würstelstand" is distributed by Frank CDROM will be available soon. If you cannot find it in the shops near you, just request it from us, we will send it to you.
If you have problems:
If you have troubles installing or playing the game, please contact us. Please describe your problem as detailed as possible in order to help us to help you. If rpm tells you that the dependencies for GGI are not fulfilled, then please try rpm --nodeps -i wurst*
Several features:
Dialogs with the customers
Several small games
Background music
Yes, a 386 should be enough (because of the Protected Mode)! Minimum 8 MB RAM, a CD-ROM-drive (Audio-CD compatible) and a VGA-card should be enough. The operation system should be DOS or Windows 95. If you want to play it under Windows NT, please deactivate the sound system, otherwise the game might crash. There are 3 installation modes:
The small installation needs about 1 Megabyte on the harddisk and the whole CD for playing. But beware: the game might run very slow!
The normal installation needs about 20 Megabytes of the harddisk and plays the films from the CD.
The full installation needs about 100 Megabytes from the harddisk. The CD is not needed any longer.
Our test-hardware :
486/DX/33, 20 MB RAM, Gravis UltraSound, DOS, Win95
Pentium/90, 64 MB RAM, SB16, DOS, Windows
Pentium/100, 64 MB RAM, Gravis UltraSound, DOS, Win95
Pentium/200, 32 MB RAM, AWE32, DOS, Windows.
Well, I would say you should have a 80486, 12 MB RAM, a CD-ROM-drive and a VGA-card. The operation system should be Linux 2.0.x or higher, including the glibc 2.1 library. The graphic library we used is called ggi (http://www.ggi-project.org/). You can use it under the console(svgalib). If there is no svgalib available, it tries to use the X-Server, we recommend an 8 Bit X-Server. The music system we used is the libmikmod, which should work with every Linux-supported soundcard.
Download
The Würstelstand distribution is splitted up into the following packets:
libgii: This packet contains the libraries for the input devices. It is a part of the GGI-system, and is used by the packet libggi.
libggi: This packet contains the graphic library ggi, which is used by Würstelstand.
wurst: The main packet of Würstelstand, which is needed in any case. It needs about 20 MB of your harddisc.
wurst-video: This packet is optional. It contains the film sequences. If it is not installed, Würstelstand tries to play them from the CD-Rom.
Binary: This is the update (3.9.1999) binary of Würstelstand for Linux. If you have an older version already installed, you just have to update this binary. The full version of Würstelstand is currently only available on CD-Rom, not for download.
